Patricia Cowart – President
Patricia (Trish) Cowart is a Senior Company Counsel in the Retail Brokerage Litigation Section with Wells Fargo located in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. After joining the firm in 2004 she held a number of management roles before relocating back to Florida. These included Chief Arbitration Counsel, Chief Litigation Counsel, and Associate General Counsel responsible for all litigation, regulatory, customer complaints, intake and other business projects. She served on Wells Fargo Advisor’s Management Committee and is part of its Senior Leadership Board.
Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Trish spent 16 years at UBS Financial f/k/a PaineWebber Inc. as the Managing Attorney of its Florida litigation group. Before she began her career as in-house counsel, she was a partner at the Florida law firm of Ruden McClosky.
Trish has been very involved in industry groups during her career. She is a member of SIFMA’s Arbitration Committee and past Chair of that group. Trish served on the FINRA National Arbitration & Mediation Committee (NAMC) from 2008 – 2012 and will rejoin that group this year. She also served on FINRA’s Discovery Task Force through 2013. Currently she is one of the two industry invitees to SICA, a focus group for issues related to arbitration that includes various regulatory bodies, neutrals and claimants' counsel. Trish has been an active member of FSDA serving on the Executive Committee in the role of Treasurer, Secretary and Vice-President prior to taking over as President in January 2017. During her time on the Executive Committee she was also co-chair of the Marketing Committee after having served as chair of the Education Committee for two years.
